Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites,   in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, put it this way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name of link spamming sites is justified. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers,  any links on them will be affected too. 

A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started promote the keyword, Swivel Eye Pulley, of course with old way of link building, a lot of sites I used had too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, finally the rank improved a lot, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? Actually this is all about content, as long as you dole out high quality content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, take a look at this blog, best baby strollers , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As far as SEO concerned, article marketing with great content is the way to go. If you can build a group of your own blogs, for instance Hydraulic Car Jack, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

Bottom line is that you should create great content, publish and share with people, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, i.e., selling online or improve your search rankings, keep doing what we have to do till the end of world. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, popular blogs will get your post indexed as soon as you post it, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, say this truck winch, nice writing, good content, published on popular site, this article serves it’s purpose well.

By the way, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, set up API credentials in your twitter tools option, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s easy and really useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.
